Smartgrid is the name often given to tomorrow’s network. It is projected to be an intelligent network that is able to transmit data and manage demand for electricity, as well as injections and stores of electricity on the network. It will enable better consumption management, reduce the environmental impact of transmission, and assist the development of renewable energies and electric vehicles.
As a communicating electric meter, Linky enables data exchange and remote operations for better consumption management. ERDF believes that Linky will be the first stage of intelligent networks.
